Eternal – 1.0ct Round Brilliant Solitaire in 925 Sterling Silver

A one-carat round brilliant is the reference point the whole category is measured against. Eternal raises one on six prongs above a slim, softly twisted band, with a few small stones on each shoulder to lead the eye to it – no halo, nothing competing with the centre stone.

The stone

One 1.0ct round brilliant lab-created stone, roughly 6.5mm across. That diameter is the point at which a ring stops being subtle and starts being the first thing someone notices about your hand.

The setting

Six prongs, raised so light can enter from beneath the stone as well as above it; six points of contact also hold a larger stone more securely than four. The band stays narrow and turns gently where it meets the setting, with small accent stones on each shoulder, so the proportions read as delicate rather than heavy.

Finding your size

Sizes run US 5 to US 10. If you are between sizes, or buying as a surprise, size up rather than down; a slightly loose ring can be worn on a different finger, a tight one cannot. Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are at their largest. Full chart in the size guide below.
